Xero Adds Employee Limits to Top Pricing Plan

Accounting Software

Online accounting software company Xero emailed subscribers last week about limits to the number of employees on its top pricing plan.

The Premium 100 plan has had a soft limit of 100 employees since the plan was introduced a year and a half ago. Users could add more than 100 employees at no extra cost. From July 1 Xero will charge A$2 a month for every employee over 100 on the Premium 100 plan up to a maximum of 200 staff.

The 200-employee limit will also be enforced. Xero emailed organisations with more than 200 employees that they could no longer use payroll on the Premium 100 plan.

“As you regularly pay more than 200 staff in your organisation, [company name removed], you’ll need to start the transition from Payroll in Xero, as payroll for over 200 staff won’t be supported from July 1,” said the email.

Xero directed organisations with 200-plus employees to use payroll add-on programs in its ecosystem of cloud applications.
