Reckon buys UK document management app

Accounting Software

Will integrate into APS and Elite.

Reckon, the Australian distributor of Quicken and QuickBooks, has bought a UK software house that sold document management and client portal applications for $22 million.

Linden House Software’s Virtual Cabinet document management software and Virtual Portal client portal solution were used by hundreds of customers across many industries, with the strongest presence in accounting, financial services and insurance, Reckon said in a press release.

“We have been searching for a DM (document management) and CP (client portal) solution that fits all parts of our business for a long time and feel certain we have now achieved that,” Reckon Group CEO Clive Rabie said in the release.

Reckon would integrate the Virtual Cabinet products into its APS and Elite suites for the accounting market and the NQBB suite for the legal market. The release didn’t mention Reckon’s plans for the client portal.

“LH’s products will round off many of our software solutions. It is a solution that is getting great traction in the UK market in many industries and consequently provides a good future opportunity for Reckon across all of our divisions,” Rabie said in the release.
